Butterflies and Swine Flu

An observation tonight from Jacks:

"Hey mom, did you know I saw a Monarch Butterfly outside today? Have you seen one of those yet this Spring? It must have just come back from Mexico.

Mom, do you think the butterflies in Mexico have the swine flu too?"

Apparently, my 6 year old has heard way too much about the swine flu.

Apparently your six year old is smarter than me too, since I wasn't aware of the fact that Monarchs come back from Mexico specifically. Gotta love the swine flu--it reminds me of SARS a few years ago.

Don't you love re-learning all the things you apparently learned in Kindergarten once upon a time? I recently learned where my metataursus is.

Jackson is cute. We had lots of fun hanging out this weekend! Sorry Marcus was always starving and worried you wouldn't have enough food for him--thanks for feeding him! Next time you can bring your whole family for a sleep over at our place.
